Glentoran 1-1 Donegal Celtic
Carnegie Premier League - Saturday, 28th October, 2006
GLENTORAN finally surrendered their 100% start to their Carnegie Premier League campaign with this draw at home to Donegal Celtic.

The Glens had knocked eight past the newly promoted Hoops in their two CIS Insurance Cup meetings and, with five minutes gone, it looked like being more of the same when Darren Lockhart made the most of some poor Celtic defending to slot the ball past Declan Brown into the corner of the net.

Despite that bright opening the remainder of the first half was a largely uninspiring affair save for a Gary Hamilton shot on the turn which Brown kept out with his legs.

The second period wasn't much better with a Cullen Feeney 77th minute effort being the pick of what little was created.

That was until the 85th minute, however, when the visitors sensationally equalised through skipper Michael McClean who collected a loose ball some 20 yards from goal and fired into the bottom corner through a crowded penalty area to earn his side a share of the spoils.
