Newry City 1-1 Donegal Celtic
Carnegie Premier League - Saturday, 26th January, 2008
A PAUL McVeigh equaliser midway through the second half earned relegation threatened Donegal Celtic a crucial point away to Newry City.

He struck on 67 minutes when he was first to the loose ball after a Colm Kearney effort was pushed out by City 'keeper Robert Robinson.

Gerry Flynn's side had led from the 47th minute after Cullen Feeney got the final touch to a Sean Friars corner from the right that appeared to be held up in the wind.

Newry really should have broken the deadlock a lot earlier than that, though, following Emmett Friars' 20th minute downward header from a Joe McDonnell ball while Richard Clarke and Paddy McLaughlin also came close with ultimately fruitless efforts.
