Linfield 2-1 Armagh City
Carnegie Premier League - Saturday, 26th January, 2008
WINKIE Murphy struck in the final minute to ensure a maximum return for leaders Linfield from this Carnegie Premier League clash at Windsor Park.

The Blues had led from the 19th minute when Peter Thompson, celebrating his call-up to the senior international squad for the forthcoming Bulgaria game, converted from the spot after he had been upended by new City signing Ciaran Friel.

And Thompson thought he had doubled their lead four minutes into the second half only for it to be disallowed for handball.

Armagh levelled, however, on 69 minutes through Shane Coney after he held off two defenders to hammer a Cian Mackey ball past Alan Mannus.

But just when it looked that the Blues would have to settle for a share of the spoils up popped Murphy with that last gasp winner after Glenn Ferguson had knocked on a Damien Curran corner from the right.
