Leading scorer David Rainey grabbed the only goal of the game with barely two minutes remaining when he rose above the visiting defence to meet an Eamon McAllister cross with a powerful header.

It was the highlight of an otherwise tepid affair which saw the only effort of note in the first half come from recent Swifts signing Jamie Tomelty who delivered a stinging free-kick just past an upright.

Tomelty came close again after the break with a shot from distance which rattled the woodwork while, at the other end, Rainey also struck an effort against the underside of the bar before dropping into the grateful arms of Dwayne Nelson.
