Newry City 0-0 Loughgall
CIS Insurance Cup - Friday, 25th August, 2006
LOUGHGALL remain in second spot in Group A following this credible Friday night draw away to Newry City.

And, with a little more good fortune, might well have scored twice in the opening quarter-of-an-hour when first Stevie Coulter and then Darragh Peden had efforts kept out.

Newry didn't really threaten until the 35th but when they did visiting keeper Marc Robinson pulled off a superb stop to deny Cormac McArdle while not long after at the other end John Black fired narrowly over from a Ryan Dickson ball.

Both sides created a number of scoring opportunities after the break with Newry's James Wills perhaps coming closest to breaking the deadlock when he pounced on a Glenn Waddell mistake only to mis-hit his effort at the crucial moment.

The Villagers ended the game with ten men when Waddell was dismissed with seven minutes remaining for a foul on Richard Clarke on the edge of the area.
