They opened the scoring after 13 minutes when United 'keeper Paul Murphy failed to claim a Ross Black drive allowing Bertie Fulton to turn home the loose ball from close range.

And they almost doubled their lead on 26 minutes only for Noel Anderson to strike an upright while, at the other end, the visitors did 'score' but Michael Ward's goal was pulled back by referee Hugh Carvill for an infringement.

United eventually levelled in the 59th minute through Kevin Kelbie who curled a well taken effort beyond Spackman into the top corner from a Stephen Lowry cross.

But Larne responded with what proved to the winner on 65 minutes thanks to a Paul Hamilton shot from an Andy Cleary free-kick on the edge of the area.
