But despite the eventual outcome the sides went in scoreless at the break. Darren Boyce did test Roesiders 'keeper Glen Millar from 20 yards on 14 minutes while Daryl Fordyce had a go from a little further out later in the half followed by a Gary Hamilton flick moments from the interval.

The deadlock was broken, though, five minutes after the restart when Boyce controlled a cross from the left before duly lobbing it over Millar into the opposite corner.

Shane McCabe made it 2-0 on 69 minutes with a low first time effort past Millar into the bottom corner from a Michael Halliday knockdown.

And Boyce wrapped the scoring up five minutes from time with a powerful volley from the edge of the area.
