Loughgall 0-6 Linfield
Carnegie Premier League - Saturday, 24th March, 2007
TOP met bottom at Lakeview Park and the gulf between the two couldn't have been wide as Linfield strolled to victory to keep their hopes of a second successive league title very much on track.

For Loughgall, however, the defeat cuts another thread on their fast diminishing survival hopes with automatic relegation now looking a certainty.

It took visitors until the 29th minute to make the breakthrough when Glenn Ferguson nodded home from four yards after Oran Kearney sent a cross in from the right.

Paul McAreavey made it 2-0 a minute from the break when he turned in a Pat McShane ball from nine yards whilst five minutes into the second half Kearney slotted home his second penalty in as many outings when he converted after David Fairclough upended Mark Dickson.

The scoring continued on 58 minutes when Aidan O'Kane darted past the Loughgall defence to send the ball under Marc Robinson.

And on 77 minutes it was five, Peter Thompson shirking off a number of challenges to score, before substitute Stephen Garrett completed the rout in the 83rd minute when he tapped home a Dickson ball from the right.
