Donegal Celtic 2-4 Portadown
Carnegie Premier League - Saturday, 24th March, 2007
PORTADOWN staged a dramatic revival to recover from a two-goal deficit to claim all three points in their quest for a European slot.

James Lavery gave Donegal Celtic the lead on 8 minutes when he calmly slotted the ball past Kevin Pressman.

And on 23 minutes the Hoops doubled their lead through Pay McAllister after he turned home a Lavery corner which was knocked on by Ciaran Donaghy.

The Ports pulled one back three minutes from the break when keeper Declan Brown dropped the ball at the feet of Gareth McKeown who gleefully tapped home from close range.

Then, ten minutes later, they equalise when a free-kick from the edge of the area caused confusion in the home defence with the ball finally crossing the line via a deflection off McAllister after Peter Kennedy knocked it goalwards.

Portadown's recovery is complete when they take the lead for the first time after Wesley Boyle sends a left-foot shot home after a corner wasn't cleared.

But the real drama was contained for the final quarter-of-an-hour when first McAllister was dismissed after picking up a second yellow card following an altercation with Kevin Beaniff while, on 82 minutes, Gary McCutcheon made it 4-2 with an opportunist effort to settle the issue.
