Glenn Ferguson edged the Blues into the lead after just 11 minutes when he was first to meet a Damian Curran corner to head it past 'keeper Stephen Harbinson.

Michael Gault almost made it 2-0 on 20 minutes with a volley just wide from another Curran set piece while Curran himself came close towards the end of the first half with a long range free-kick.

After the break Celtic looked the more likely to score with Blues defender Paul McAreavey clearing an almost certain goal on 65 minutes before, with six minutes left, Colm Kearney grabbed the equaliser from close range after Alan Mannus could only parry a Paul McVeigh header from a Ciaran Gargan free-kick.
