Newry City 3-0 Dungannon Swifts
Carnegie Premier League - Saturday, 22nd September, 2007
GERRY Flynn's Newry City continued their fine start to the season with this opening Carnegie Premier League defeat of Dungannon Swifts at The Showgrounds.

Sean Friars finally broke the deadlock in a fairly non-descript game on 41 minutes with a clinical finish in space from a James Willis left sided pass.

And he added a second four minutes after the interval once again after Willis delivered the ball from the left.

Willis finally got in on the act himself on 65 minutes when he turned poacher to beat the offside trap and slot past Dwayne Nelson for number three.

Dungannon did have a chance to reduce to the deficit on 72 minutes when Shea Campbell sent a penalty wide after he had been brought down by Ian Curran.
