Loughgall 1-1 Newry City
Carnegie Premier League - Saturday, 21st October, 2006
IT WAS honours even at Lakeview Park following this Mid-Ulster derby which leaves Loughgall still looking for their first win of the season.

The Villagers opened the scoring on 27 minutes through Ally Wilson who collected a Noel Robinson ball before firing a strong shot past the keeper from the edge of the area.

It was a short-lived lead though. In fact, it only last three minutes when Damien Curran converted a spot-kick awarded when Ian Wallace brought down Richard Clarke just inside the box although he had to do so from the rebound after Stuart Addis blocked his initial effort.

Newry might have moved in front six minutes into the second only for an Andy Crawford effort to flash just past the back post while, ten minutes later, Ian Curran saw a surefire goal cleared off the line by Noel Robinson.

And he was denied by another clearance on 68 minutes, this time by Darragh Peden, before heading just over from a Cormac McArdle corner in the 74th.

Loughgall's best effort of the second half was a Chris Guiney goalbound shot which was deflected to safety by Niall Hudson.
