Dungannon Swifts 3-2 Cliftonville
Carnegie Premier League - Saturday, 21st October, 2006
CLIFTONVILLE's status as the only unbeaten side this season came to an end with this defeat to Dungannon Swifts at Stangmore Park.

The Swifts opened the scoring on 16 minutes through David Scullion who collected a Thomas Wray before creating space for himself in the penalty area and firing a low shot past John Connolly.

It was 2-0 four minutes later when Rodney McAree successfully converted a free-kick some 25 yards out after Declan O'Hara had brought down Rory Hamill.

And, on 24 minutes, the Swifts added a third after O'Hara handled a JP Gallagher cross with Scullion firing home the resultant penalty.

However rather than crumble the Reds managed to reduce the deficit in first half stoppage time through Liam Fleming who knocked home a spot-kick awarded for a Wray foul on George McMullan.

Then, three minutes into the second half, they closed the gap further still after McMullan despatched a 25-yard drive past Dwayne Nelson's right side.

They continued to press forward and might have grabbed a sensational equaliser 12 minutes from time only for a John O'Loughlin effort to come back off the right post whilst Nelson did well to deny Mark Holland's attempt at a follow-up.
