Armagh City 2-3 Portadown
Carnegie Premier League - Saturday, 21st October, 2006
ARMAGH City are still awaiting their first Carnegie Premier League points of the season following this defeat at home to Portadown.

However if they play the way they did in the first half of this Mid-Ulster derby those elusive points surely won't be too far away.

They opened the scoring on six minutes through Shea Campbell who was released by Kieran O'Connor before slotting the ball past Kevin Pressman from 10 yards.

Portadown levelled just two minutes later, though, when Gary Liggett picked up a pass from Peter Kennedy and fired a 20-yard drive home.

Armagh regained the advantage, however, in first half stoppage time after Stephen Hyndes blasted the ball past Pressman from fully 25 yards.

But, once again, the Ports quickly equalised when, on 47 minutes, Liggett played the ball through for Gary McCutcheon to slot it below the advancing Gavin Cushley.

Then, just four minutes after that, the visitors moved in front for the first time with what proved to be the match winner when Liggett fired across the face of goal for Kennedy to guide the ball home at the back post.
