Newry City 2-1 Institute
Carnegie Premier League - Saturday, 20th October, 2007
NEWRY City's excellent start to the campaign continued with this defeat of Institute at The Showgrounds.

City's on-loan striker from Linfield, Stephen Garrett, fired Gerry Flynn's side in front after barely three minutes when he pounced on a horrendous attempt at a clearance from 'Stute keeper Michael Doherty.

And Doherty's afternoon got worse early in the second half when he was sent-off for upending Garrett in the area.

Then, on 63 minutes, Newry extended their advantage through Tony Anderson when Garrett played the ball across the box for him to direct past Doherty's replacement - Alan Ryan - from six yards.

'Stute did grab a late consolation when, right on the final whistle, David Ogilby converted a penalty following a foul on Philip Lowry.
