Rory Hamill grabbed what proved to be the winner just six minutes from time when he scrambled the ball home at the back post after Paul Leeman had done enough to just about keep a Gary Hamilton corner from drifting out.

It was a frustrating finish for Larne who might have led from the first half when, on 35 minutes, Sean Ward almost turned a Ross Black left-wing cross past his own keeper whilst attempting to clear.

After the break David Scullion saw a close range effort blocked by Ross Black while Andrew Cleary later produced a crucial tackle to deny Chris Morgan.
