Glenavon 0-1 Donegal Celtic
Carnegie Premier League - Saturday, 20th October, 2007
A LATE Paul McVeigh strike was the difference between the sides in this lacklustre at Mourneview Park.

He struck with a peach of a free-kick 15 minutes from time which darted into the top corner after he himself was brought down by Gavin McDonnell on the edge of the area.

Neither side really created much prior to that. Glenavon had a couple of first half Neal Gawley efforts to their name but both went well wide before a McDonnell header from a John Douglas free-kick fizzled narrowly past an upright.

Eamonn Murphy also threatened with a dipping shot which sailed just over the bar while, for Celtic, a McVeigh volley was the pick of what they created.

Glenavon might have snatched a late equaliser when Colm Kearney flashed in a header only for 'keeper Declan Brown to prove equal to the challenge.
