Glentoran 0-1 Drogheda United
Setanta Sports Cup - Monday, 19th March, 2007
GLENTORAN face an uphill struggle to progress to the next phase of the Setanta Sports Cup following this home defeat to holders Drogheda United.

Aidan O'Keefe grabbed the only goal of the game for the visitors three minutes after the break with a confident finish after Simon Webb lobbed the ball over the top of the Glentoran defence.

It was perhaps rough justice on Paul Millar's side who might well have enjoyed a comfortable lead by that stage.

Gary Hamilton came close on 25 minutes with a curling 25-yard free-kick which brought out the best in 'keeper Dan Connor while, nine minutes later, Jason Hill had a close range effort blocked by the impressive custodian.

After the break, though, O'Keefe struck as debutant keeper Michael Dougherty advanced and could have doubled their advantage soon after only to fire wide when well placed.

The Glens sit bottom of Group One with half their games played. Joint leaders Derry City and Linfield meet tonight at Windsor Park.
