Portadown 0-2 Dungannon Swifts
Carnegie Premier League - Saturday, 17th March, 2007
PORTADOWN all but bade farewell to their title hopes with this two-goal home reversal at the hands of Dungannon Swifts.

Despite the eventual outcome it was the Ports who created the majority of chances in the first half with Gareth McKeown, Marc McCann, and Allan Smart amongst others all going close with ex-Millwall and Northern Ireland U21 cap Kevin Braniff looking the most likely when producing an excellent stop from Dwayne Nelson.

Then, two minutes after the break, Gary McCutcheon shaved the visiting crossbar - surely it was only a matter of time before Ronnie McFall's side moved in front.

Not so. The deadlock was eventually broken on the hour when David Scullion picked up a loose ball following some sloppy defending and advanced to slot under the body of David Miskelly.

McCutcheon might have levelled soon after only for Nelson to tip his low shot around an upright but their hopes of a recovery were dashed ten minutes from time when Miskelly brought down Scullion in the area.

The Northern Ireland U21 international duly dusted himself down and stepped up to hammer home the resultant spot-kick to put the issue beyond doubt.
