Glenavon 3-3 Coleraine
Carnegie Premier League - Saturday, 17th March, 2007
GLENAVON and Coleraine shared six goals in a gripping encounter at Mourneview Park which also produced two red cards and a stand-in 'keeper!

The Lurgan Blues move in front after just six minutes when David Bracken converted a spot-kick after Kyle McVey brought down David Ward.

The Bannsiders levelled through veteran defender Paul Gaston, though, before grabbing the advantage on the half-hour thanks to a thundering 25-yard Darren Boyce effort.

Inbetween times Glenavon were reduced to nine men when first Conor Walsh picked up two yellow cards in four minutes, the second for a push on Stewart Clanachan, while scorer Bracken picked up a straight red for an off-the-ball incident.

However they managed to pull level moments from the break when David Hawthorne headed home unmarked at the far post following a Barry Meehan left-wing cross.

And, amazingly, Glenavon moved back in front eight minutes after the break when Hawthorne unleashed a long range shot past David O'Hare after a Neal Gawley throw-in was flicked into his path.

Coleraine's cause wasn't helped soon after when they lost keeper O'Hare through injury with earlier scorer Boyce replacing him between the sticks.

But they managed to carve out an equaliser seven minutes from time when David Patton collected the ball from a left-sided Gordon Patton cross to beat keeper Paul Rice.
