Dungannon Swifts 1-0 Cliftonville
Carnegie Premier League - Saturday, 16th February, 2008
CLIFTONVILLE fell to their first defeat of the campaign and lost their grip on top spot with this reversal away to Dungannon Swifts.

Perhaps the best chance of a scoreless first half fell to Austin Friel who failed to get the necessary contact to a JP Gallagher cross from the right.

For the Reds David McAlinden and Sean Cleary came closest with headers.

On 50 minutes the Swifts almost moved in front when Jamie Tomelty tested John Connolly with a 25-yard drive which had the Reds 'keeper scuttling across his line to clear the danger.

The deadlock was finally broken on 69 minutes when Michael Hegarty was picked out by Mark McAllister on the edge of the box to volley the ball past Connolly.
