Lisburn Distillery 2-1 Larne
CIS Insurance Cup - Saturday, 15th September, 2007
LISBURN Distillery secured second spot in Group B and with it the daunting prospect of a quarter-final against Linfield with this defeat of Larne at Ballyskeagh.

They had to come from behind to do so, however, after Noel Corrigan had handed Larne an early 18th minute lead after he had lobbed a seemingly dead ball over the head of Philip Matthews from some 30 yards.

And Larne might have doubled their advantage just a couple of minutes later when Marty Hunter headed a corner against the bar.

However the Whites recovered to stun Larne with a double whammy just before the break to seize control of the game.

They levelled on 37 minutes through Paul Muir who nodded a Gary Browne corner past Chris Keenan before, three minutes from the interval, Andrew Waterworth made it 2-1 with a low shot after being put clear by Ryan McCann.

Mark Cooling might have added another early in the second half only for Keenan to save at the near post while Aaron Robinson almost put the ball past his own keeper just after the hour when attempting to clear a Peter McCann cross.

The Whites did have the ball in the net again on 72 minutes but Waterworth's 'goal' was ruled out for offside.
