The Bannsiders opened the scoring after five minutes through U21 international Kyle McVey who successfully converted from the spot after Sean Heneghan had been brought down by Philip Lowry.

Institute levelled on 41 minutes when a Lowry left-wing cross was nodded home by Andy Crawford.

'Stute might have taken the lead in the second half through Ryan Campbell who struck the crossbar with a rasping drive followed by Crawford somehow sending a gilt-edged chance wide of the target.
