PORTADOWN experienced little difficulty overcoming Dungannon Swifts in this Mid-Ulster derby at Stangmore Park.

Johnny Topley got the ball rolling three minutes before half-time when he scrambled the ball over the line at the left post from a blocked Wesley Boyle free-kick.

The Ports were forced to change 'keepers at the break with Neill Armstrong replacing the injured David Miskelly between the sticks.

Boyle made it 2-0 on 58 minutes with a powerful header home which gave Dwayne Nelson no chance.

Kevin Braniff completed the scoring 12 minutes when he rounded the advancing Nelson to coolly slot home.
