Ballymena United 2-1 Armagh City
Carnegie Premier League - Saturday, 15th March, 2008
BALLYMENA United recorded their first victory since New Years Day with this defeat of Armagh City at The Showgrounds.

They had to come from behind to do so, however, after City moved in front after a quarter-of-an-hour when Gary Fitzpatrick met a Johnny McSorley free-kick with a header which Paul Murphy could only palm into the net.

Shane Coney should have made it 2-0 five minutes later when Liam Cullen played him in only for Murphy to save for his feet.

They had the ball in the net again eight minutes later only for Cullen's 'goal' to be disallowed because he punched it past the 'keeper.

United came closest to levelling a minute from the break only for Stuart King to skew his effort wide from just eight yards.

But King atoned on 57 minutes with a free-kick from the edge of the area which flew over Stuart Addis.

And United made their second half dominance pay six minutes from the end when Kevin Kelbie performed a neat step-over to beat Addis with an excellent shot.
