Glenavon 1-1 Larne
Carnegie Premier League - Saturday, 14th October, 2006
GLENAVON put a halt to their recent losing streak with this draw at home to Larne.

However they had to come from behind to do so after the visitors moved into a ninth minute lead through Colm Kearney who fired past Paul Rice after Liam Mullen sliced his initial effort.

Kearney almost doubled his tally six minutes after he held off the challenge of Brian Mallon only for his resultant shot to lack the necessary power to trouble Rice.

And later Mullen tested Rice from distance with the keeper making something of a meal of dealing with the effort.

Glenavon levelled four minutes into the second half through Paul McKnight who spotted Chris Keenan off his line and made the most of the opportunity with a deft chip over his head and into the net.

The Lurgan Blues might well have snatched victory in the final quarter when Neil Gawley crossed for Nathan McConnell only for the latter to get the touch which would surely have seen it cross the line.
