Glenavon 1-2 Bangor
JJB Sports Irish Cup - Saturday, 12th January, 2008
BANGOR exacted revenge for their play-off defeat by the Lurgan Blues with this JJB Sports Irish Cup victory at Mourneview Park.

Glenavon welcomed new manager Terry Cochrane with the opening goal on 16 minutes when Michael McKerr crossed from the right for Trevor Molloy to score after the ball had been flicked on by David Bracken.

And Bracken might have made it 2-0 on 32 minutes only for his long range effort to cannon back off the crossbar.

But Bangor levelled on the stroke of half-time courtesy of a Marty Verner spot-kick after he had been upended by Barry Meehan.

The First Division visitors then sealed victory with a quarter-of-an-hour remaining through a Stephen Munn free-kick.
