Glentoran 3-2 Coleraine
Carnegie Premier League - Saturday, 11th November, 2006

GLENTORAN remain three points clear at the top of the Carnegie Premier League following this defeat of Coleraine at The Oval.

Colin Nixon put the league leaders ahead on 20 minutes with a close range tap-in after a Kyle Neill free-kick was knocked across the face of goal.

However the Bannsiders levelled seven minutes later through Darren Boyce who saw his first effort blocked but was fortunate when his return went over Nixon's head despite Elliott Morris getting a hand to the ball.

But on 32 minutes it was 2-1 to the Glens when Michael Halliday knocked the ball home from point blank range from a Gary Hamilton left-wing cross.

Then, on 79 mins, Jason Hill appeared to seal the points for the Glens with a left-foot effort which slithered over the line despite the best efforts of Bannsiders keeper David O'Hare.

Coleraine did manage to pull one back in stoppage time, though, through Stephen Carson who unleashed a stunning right-foot drive past Morris from the edge of the area.
