Donegal Celtic 0-1 Cliftonville
Carnegie Premier League - Saturday, 10th March, 2007
CLIFTONVILLE moved to within a point of the Carnegie Premier League summit with this defeat of Donegal Celtic.

The winner and, indeed, only goal, came just eight minutes from time through Sean Cleary who dispatched a low drive from around 25 yards into the bottom left-hand corner of Declan Brown's goal.

They might have moved in front long before that, however, when early in the game George McMullan almost opened the scoring only for his goalbound effort to be headed off the line by Ciaran Donaghy.

Later on keeper Brown crashed into a post whilst saving a Ronan Scannell free-kick and although the ball fell loose for Vincent Sweeney he was unable to make the most of the opportunity.

Celtic did come into the game more in the second half with John Bellew twice coming close on 78 minutes while James Lavery also notched up a couple of promising efforts.

However their cause was not helped with ten minutes remaining when Anthony Lagan was dismissed by referee David Best following an off-the-ball incident with Gary Kennedy.

Two minutes later Cleary popped up to knock home the winner .......
