Newry City 1-1 Dundela
JJB Sports Irish Cup - Saturday, 9th February, 2008
A RICHARD Clarke penalty on 65 minutes saved Newry City's blushes at The Showgrounds but they must do it all over again on Tuesday night after failing to put their First Division opponents to the sword.

The Duns stunned hosts Newry when leading scorer Matthew Burrows dispossessed Paul Donegan on the edge of the area before confidently rounding Robert Robinson after 22 minutes.

Up until that point Gerry Flynn's side appeared to be in control when Richard Clarke almost firing them in front on two minutes only for Duns 'keeper James Taylor to block the effort with Chris Morgan failing to convert the rebound.

Sean Friars also came close for City but they almost fell further behind on 38 minutes through a William McIlroy glancing header but Robinson did well to save.

Newry levelled, however, when Richard Clarke converted that spot-kick awarded for a Tommy Parker handball on the line, for which he received his marching orders.
