A GOAL in each half by Irishman Dominic Foley condemned Cliftonville to defeat in the first leg of this Intertoto Cup tie in Belguim.

Foley, a former Bohemians striker, opened the scoring for the Jupiler League side after just nine minutes when he headed home a Christophe Grégoire corner that wasn't picked up by the Reds defence.

He then added number two, a close range effort, after 63 minutes to hand the Buffaloes a commanding lead going into next weekend's return at Windsor Park.

Both sides were reduced to ten men when Grégoire and Declan O'Hara were dismissed following a clash in the closing moments.
