Portadown 1-5 Coleraine
Carnegie Premier League - Saturday, 5th April, 2008
A STORMING first half performance saw Coleraine stun Portadown at Shamrock Park and put a serious dent in their hopes of securing European football.

The Bannsiders opened the scoring on 17 minutes through Tommy McCallion who ran 20 yards unchallenged before send a low shot past Neill Armstrong from the edge of the area.

Stephen Dooley made it 2-0 three minutes later with a header from a Stephen Carson cross before Carson himself added a third on 23 minutes with a blistering effort into the roof of the net.

The Ports thought they had pulled a goal back on the half-hour but Aime Koudou's effort was ruled out offside - and barely a couple of minutes later David Patton made it 4-0 to the visitors with a close range tap in after Armstrong dropped a Carson free-kick.

Portadown eventually managed reduce the arrears 42 seconds after the interval through Marc McCann who dispatched a 20-yard drive beyond Davy O'Hare following a poor Coleraine clearance.

But the visitors restored their four goal cushion on 66 minutes when Marty Hunter nodded past substitute 'keeper David Miskelly from close range.
