Ballymena United 0-0 Glenavon
Carnegie Premier League - Saturday, 5th January, 2008
GLENAVON picked up their first point in ten outings with this scoreless draw at high-flying Ballymena United.

The Sky Blues, now 12 games unbeaten, started brightly when Kevin Kelbie just failed to get a touch to a Stephen Lowry corner.

Glenavon created a couple of efforts of their own through David Bracken and Conor Walsh only for their shots to lack power before, on 25 minutes, new Glenavon signing Trevor Molloy saw a dangerous cross cleared by Gary Haveron.

At the other end another new signing, Andrew Hageman, headed a Stuart King cross off the line.

The chances proved equally fruitless after the break when Kelbie was denied by a Gavin McDonnell tackle followed by a Mark Picking volley the wrong side of the post.

Glenavon might have snatched all three points six minutes from the end when Adrian Harper put Molloy through only for his shot to clip the outside of the post.
