Glenavon had taken the lead through Barry Meehan on 65 minutes after he beat Elliott Morris with a low left-foot strike when the ball was played across the edge of the area.

But the visitors levelled six minutes later through substitute Kyle Neill who drilled a low ball into the bottom right-hand corner.

Glentoran then moved in front with nine minutes left through skipper Colin Nixon who delivered a penalty into the right corner after Gary Hamilton was upended just inside the area.
