The Bannsiders might have taken the lead on 22 minutes when a Marty Hunter close range header from a Stephen Carson corner was saved by Michael Doherty.

And 'Stute came closer still at the other end barely a minute later after Andy Crawford's header was pushed onto a post by Davy O'Hare.

Institute threatened again either side of the break when a Philip Lowry effort took a deflection off Kyle McVey on it's way over on 45 minutes followed by a squandered Declan Divin shot three minutes into the second half.

Neither side created much beyond that although the visitors might have nicked it right at the end when Hunter sent an overhead kick just over.
