Glenavon 2-0 Institute
Carnegie Premier League - Friday, 1st February, 2008
GLENAVON picked up their first league win in 12 outings with this defeat of fellow strugglers Institute at Mourneview Park.

It was 'Stute, however, who began the more promising of the two sides with efforts from Declan Divin and Martin Cutmore both being beaten away by skipper Hugh Dickson and 'keeper Paul Cairnduff respectively.

And a little later Mark Scoltock was unlucky to see his header from a Ryan Semple left-wing corner thunder back off the crossbar followed by a goalline Paul Walsh clearance to block a Steven Campbell drive.

But it was Glenavon who finally broke the deadlock on 59 minutes when Eamonn Murray controlled a right wing Trevor Molloy cross before knocking it beyond Michael Doherty.

It was 2-0 eight minutes later when recent signing Nathan Jameson flicked home a header from a Ciaran Donnelly free-kick delivered from the left.
